Privacy Policy

ShareMyInternet is operated by Ambition Forge Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. We provide a bandwidth sharing platform that lets you earn money by sharing your unused internet connection.

This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it. It applies to the ShareMyInternet Android app and website at sharemyinternet.com.

Account Information

• Name and email address (from Google Sign-In)
• Profile picture (from Google)
• UPI ID (for payouts, provided by you)

Device Information

• A device identifier derived from your device's hardware (used to prevent duplicate registrations)
• Mobile carrier name and network type (WiFi/mobile)
• Approximate city-level location (derived from IP address, not GPS)
• Battery level and device model

Usage Data

• Bandwidth shared (bytes in/out) for calculating your earnings
• Connection uptime and sharing session duration
• App crash reports (via Sentry)

This is important:

• We cannot see your browsing activity. Our app runs a proxy server for incoming traffic from our network. Your own outgoing traffic (browsing, apps, messages) goes directly to the internet through your normal connection. We never intercept, monitor, or touch it.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, files, SMS, call logs, or any other personal data on your device.
• We do not use GPS location. City-level location is derived from your IP address.
• We do not read the content of proxy traffic flowing through your device. This traffic is encrypted (TLS) between our customer and the destination website.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Payment processors (Razorpay) to process your payouts
• Crash reporting (Sentry) to fix app issues
• Cloud infrastructure (Azure) for hosting and data storage

Our proxy customers see only your IP address (as part of the proxy service). They do not receive your name, email, device ID, or any other personal information.

• Account data is stored in encrypted databases hosted on Azure in India.
• Passwords are never stored. Authentication is handled via Google Sign-In.
• All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via TLS.
• Device-to-relay tunnels use mandatory encryption (rathole with TLS).

• Account data is retained while your account is active.
• If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymised usage records may be retained for accounting.
• Payout records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and applicable Indian law, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data we hold
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Delete your account and personal data
• Withdraw consent for data processing at any time by uninstalling the app
• Nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf
• Grievance redressal through our contact below, or by approaching the Data Protection Board of India

To exercise any of these rights, email legal@sharemyinternet.com. We will respond within 30 days.

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account.

The sharemyinternet.com website uses only essential cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or third-party advertising scripts.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the app or email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
